Tor Kenward, Vintner and Proprietor

A fixture of Napa Valley for nearly five decades, Tor Kenward has built a legacy as one of the region’s most respected vintners. In 2001, he and his wife Susan founded TOR Wines, dedicated to crafting small-production, single-vineyard wines from legendary sites including Beckstoffer To Kalon, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, Vine Hill Ranch, Melanson Vineyard, and Hyde Vineyard. The winery has since earned twenty 100-point scores across multiple vintages, with its 2018 Black Magic Cuvée becoming a 500-point wine.

In 2022, Tor released his bestselling memoir, Reflections of a Vintner: Stories and Seasonal Wisdom from a Lifetime in Napa Valley, earning critical acclaim and a sold-out first printing. A second edition is slated for release in 2025, further cementing his role as both a storyteller and steward of Napa Valley’s history.
